Jakwob - Fade [Forthcoming Release]

Jakwob [Boom Ting Records] - Official | Facebook | Twitter | Soundcloud

James Jacob Jakwob has recently focused more on his LIVE band productions and performances as one has seen with his last release titled The Prize. We've kept an eye out on what he's been churning out and we honestly can't wait until he brings his LIVE performance over here to the states. He recently sent over Detox as a radio exclusive that later was released to the public (download here). When he shared the track below I jumped out of seat in excitement, "Yes, This is the TUNE!". If you don't believe me you can check out his twitter page where I tweeted him my excitement. James, please send this over to us. We will play it on Dank Radio. In fact, we'll rinse it out on Dank Radio AND our DJ sets!

The Weeknd - Rolling Stone (Truth Remix) [Free Download]

By now many of you have heard The Weeknd's track Rolling Stone. Some of you have engaged in a whole array of acts to the music that may or may not include wide ranging sexual activities to simply moving around town minding your own business. For the bass inclined we've searched for proper musical transmutations of any and all of The Weeknd's tracks and have come up short. Fortunately for us, Truth has come to relieve us of our search. Bonus points for appropriate cover art + allowing us to download the track for free.

Disclosure - Boiling ft. Sinead Harnett [Forthcoming Release]

Disclosure : Facebook | Soundcloud | Forthcoming on Greco-Roman 6/4/12

We first introduced you all to the two brothers back in June of 2011 and in less than a years time their music has spread like wildfire on the internet. In addition to their stellar production and amazing live stage performance, their music has been championed by the likes of SBTRKT and a whole slew of UKG producer/djs. They have yet to disappoint and for those of us here in the US we wait patiently for a tour to arrive at our shores. While we wait, we'll have no choice but to enjoy their amazing songs...

Monkey Wrench - Anything For You / Colombia [Rip from Dismantle's Rinse FM Mix]

Monkey Wrench - Facebook | Twitter | Soundcloud

Dismantle did a facebook post about these guys from Bristol not too long ago and I was extremely happy when I pressed play. The use of the R&B Vocal samples are amazing on these two UKG tracks. The original songs were songs that we used to always jamm out to or grind to at school dances way back in the day. So for these gents to take that same nostalgic feel and relate it to music that I've currently really taking a liking to is just plain amazing. Hear it for yourself...

Giraffage - LUV [Upcoming Event + Tour Dates]

Giraffage : Official | Facebook | Twitter | Bandcamp

Five hours ago or so I was sipping on some coffee getting ready to handle some Dank Radio emails and had an extreme hunger for something new and fresh. I've already went through all the latest posts from all the Dank Radio contributors and was still a tad bit hungry. So I turned to the hommies over at I.T.S. Music Playground Facebook Group to see what they had. Here's where I discovered Girrafage's track below, LUV. It definitely hit the spot and to my amazement and further internet search I discovered that he's going to be performing this Thursday @ The Echoplex for a FYF Fest event [More Info|Tix]. If this isn't the universe speaking to me then I don't know what is. Check out the track below. For all of the FlyLo + Brainfeeder + Low End + HudMo fans I'm sure you'll enjoy it just as I did. If it moves you to further explore I suggest checking him out @ The Echoplex this Thursday...

Daughter - Youth (Wild Culture's Leo crazy in love mix)

Daughter : Facebook | Twitter - Wild Culture : Official | Facebook | Twitter

A very cool and groovy deep house esque rendition of Daughter's (aka Elena Tonra) latest release Youth. Wild Culture really highlights the softness to Elena's vocal timbre and doesn't lose the whole emotion of the song through the 4/4 beat. I would definitely include this in my warm up sets and closing sets as well.

Will Bailey and Dskotek - Saxon [Free Download]

Will Bailey: Facebook | Twitter | Soundcloud

I first encountered a Will Bailey track during a Jack Beats mix I played non-stop a couple years ago. I lost track of what he was up to and some of the local DJs gave me a heads up that he's still crankin' out tunes and in fact he recently just moved out to LA. Below is one of said tunes that he dishes out with regularity on his Soundcloud page. He's begun to explore genres out side of his usual sonic scope of house and it's a fun change of pace. His track with Dskotek titled "Saxon" is a fun addition to any DJ's 100-110 bpm range.

Phil Collins - In the Air Tonight (Cosmo Black Remix)

Phil Collins : Official | Cosmo Black : Facebook

[via] We're going to start things off today with something nice and easy. Easy peasy is what they say. You'll see later on today. Any hoo here goes a remix by Australian Cosmo Black on what I can say is one of the more familiar tunes that played on the radio whenever my mother took Eccentric and I to school in the morning many, many, many years ago. It's a fun re-work and I'll most likely sneak it in my sets from here on out. Press play + Enjoy.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs - How Far (The 2 Bears remix) [Tour Dates]

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs : Facebook | Twitter | Soundcloud

Just went through a Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs listening binge just now. The weekend couldn't come any sooner. The coffee is really starting to kick in right now and this track is just the perfect addition to keep me going for the whole night. Below you will find The 2 Bears' interpretation of TEED's track How Far. It definitely still has that spacey vibe from the original but the groove is less "yay" and more "yeah". If that makes any sense to you, we should congregate at Hard this weekend...

PhillySoundSystem [Feature Interview]

PhillySoundSystem : Soundcloud | Twitter

UK producer and DJ Nic Phillips aka Phillysoundsystem is a huge up and coming producer from the rising bass scene whose dubstep tracks have been featured prominently on Beatport. At 27 years old, he’s had his share of experience (about 15 years worth) in the world of music production and DJing. With two EPs released under LU10 Records, his tracks have a wide variety of sounds and influences that set his tracks apart from many contemporary dubstep producers. We were fortunate enough for him to take the time to give us an insight into his productions, what’s coming up in the near future for him, and more. -fabricated

fabricated: Before I begin, thank you for doing this interview with us. First thing’s first, how did the name Phillysoundsystem come about?
PhillySoundSystem: PhillySoundSystem came about for 2 main reasons, My surname is Phillips and I wanted a name that would represent my own sound. Back in the day music was heard on “SoundSystems” so get there particular sound across, which this combination of names I was hoping to get the same vibe across to people who buy/listen to my music

fabricated: I read Beatportal’s “The Frontlines – Dubstep November Edition” from a couple months ago and I noticed that you started producing over 10 years ago. How did you get your start into production and how did you find your way into the bass scene?
PhillySoundSystem: Yea its near 15 years now, I was in school about 11-12 and my music teacher allowed me to stay after school in the studio and try and figure out how 2 make my compositions onto a computer. I started of on Atari Notator, then progressed from makin white labels (vinyl) and my 1st genre I started making was Jungle and Speed garage. Dubstep is like a new form of Drum and bass in the fact that all types are covered and are accepted. I like to make music away from the norm and Dubstep has allowed me to do this.
