No, you probably won't, but you will etch in your mind the name of the fellow, Druid Cloak. I've been spinning various tracks from his recently released EP titled, The Grove [Purchase it @ Beatport | iTunes | Juno], on a handful of recent Dank Radio broadcasts. He's been on many "Who to look out for in 2013" lists. To put it plainly, yes you should keep an eye or two out for this dude. He has yet to do an extensive touring throughout the US, but I can only imagine what he has in store for SXSW. Download his his remix of A$AP Rocky's track Fashion Killa here. [via] I'm kickin' myself in the arse for missing Ardalan's set down at MDA's event at La Cave not too long ago. Discovering his track "Mr. Spock" was quite a random find a couple years ago. It was that hip hop sample after the drop that really did it for me. Little did I realize at that time how much hip hop sample based house music I would gravitate towards as I moved forward in the time space continuum. Check out his Guest Mix for GDD down below. We've been spinning a few of the Captain Murphy tracks over the past couple episodes of Dank Radio.  It's a VERY interesting concept album/movie.  G1ockz introduced it to us many months ago and we had a few ideas of who it may have been. If you've been living in a stasis pod lately and have barely woken up to the new age of 2013 and are wondering who the f)(ck Captain Murphy is, have no fear. It's none other than godfather of the LA beat scene, Flying Lotus. I can only guess the concept of this album/video originated on a strange DMT trip that was later influenced on a binge of 1980s and 1990s television. Whatever his muse may have been, it's definitely a trip to take once or twice or thrice. Beware if you are a bit queazy and if you are viewing this at work later this week. I would wait until you're on your 1hr lunch break and on your iPad to view it. Don't say we didn't warn you. Seat belts please...

Truth - Love's Shadow [Stream + Free Download]

New Zealand dubstep production duo Truth released their Love's Shadow album on their Soundcloud that's available for download. They also released the album in lossless WAV format for free as well for audiophiles and DJs (and if you're a DJ, you should be playing out lossless files!).

The album features guests such as Yayne (who they've been collaborating a lot with since their "Dreams / Last Time" release on Tempa), Kromestar, and Datsik. The album also includes J:Kenzo's remix of "Rain Dancer" and Perverse's remix of "Gaza."

Well, seeing as how this is my first post as a Dank Radio tastemaker, I feel it's only right that I sort of showcase some of the things about me.

First and foremost, I am Robbie Metcalf, a California native and music enthusiast. My company HOF (Hall of Fame) throws massive events up here in Northern California, and I am in charge of talent management and the chief in office of our newly-born record label.

This is our first release, an EDM, Hip-Hop collaboration between Long Beach disco king La Zebra and Sactown hero C Plus.
