In celebration of SBTRKT's recent release of their LIVE album recorded/filmed at Shepherds Bush Empire London in October 2012 they've released the live video for Hold On/Migration. We've had the beautiful opportunity to see them perform live at last years Coachella and it was truly an amazing performance. It's so awesome to see their progression go from strictly ableton run dj sets to full on live performances. We can't wait for their next full length as well as next round of US Tour Dates. James Jacob Jakwob has recently focused more on his LIVE band productions and performances as one has seen with his last release titled The Prize. We've kept an eye out on what he's been churning out and we honestly can't wait until he brings his LIVE performance over here to the states. He recently sent over Detox as a radio exclusive that later was released to the public (download here). When he shared the track below I jumped out of seat in excitement, "Yes, This is the TUNE!". Shout outs to Manni Dee representing the Brighton sounds over and across the pond. Manni has been an early supporter of Dank Radio and we're really glad at the rate of not only his musical growth, but his ever expanding cv of favorite artists he's performed with. We always knew he was going places. It's just a matter of time until he makes his way down to Southern California so we can have a proper show/Dank Radio live mix. But until that happens the mix below will have to be suffice. It features a handful of forthcoming tunes of his which will be released on the likes of Hit & Hope and Raised By Records. Interesting thing to note is Manni's evolution from his previous musical creations which mirrored more Brainfeeder / Low End Theory type vibes into his more 150 bpm and beyond juke type rhythms. I've been screening + blogging music for the past 6 hours or so. I was going to bookmark this and post it later on tonight, but I knew her vocals were just going to resonate through my mind and keep me awake. I've had a previous live video of her performing "Run" bookmarked that I was going to share, but it got lost with all of numerous songs, EPs, and LPs I still have to listen to. There's just something about Elena's haunting voice that captures my attention. Picture a rainy day on a main street somewhere in a mid level city. You need to escape the downpour as you're becoming soaking wet and so you enter this random coffee shop to dry off. As you shake your coat off you turn around and here this voice that begins to draw you in. Normally you'd need a cup of coffee to warm you up, but this time it's different. You start to radiate warmth from your core outward towards your extremities. You both exchange a quick gaze, she smiles, and continues performing. But in that moment, that brief moment when her eyes entered yours, something happened. It's never happened before and you need to know why and you can't help but want more...

Four Tet's "Love Cry" is just one of those songs that you can listen to on repeat for almost for ever. For me it was the opening drum pattern and just the swing that make me bob and sway my head that won me over. When the lyrics "Love Cry" drop in you just feel that rush of sonic warmth and you just can't help but smile. I have yet to experience a Four Tet Live or DJ set and am really looking forward to just vibing out w/ my eyes closed to his musical selections.

For our UK friends over the pond SBTRKT has just announced a ring of LIVE performance dates towards the end of February [with support from one of my more recent favorite sibling duos Disclosure!!!]. Having seen this set up of his live I can honestly say it is mandatory attendance.
