Rustie - BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix [Tour Dates + Upcoming Event]

Rustie : Facebook | Twitter | Soundcloud : Purchase Glass Swords @ iTunes | Amazon | Bleep
Guess who's back? That's right. I am ;) To start this off we're going super crazy groovy bust your neck kind of beats with a melodic sense to sing your girlfriend to sleep. We've shared our great love for his music in the past and have shed some light on some of his favorite video game(s) [hint: Triforce]. If you've been sleeping under a rock in Hyrule it's time for you to wipe those eye boogers off your face and check out the one and only, Rustie. I can't believe I barely found out about his essential mix earlier tonight. I've been slacking on my Essential Mix game and it's because sometimes our personal RPGs take longer than planned to finish. His Essential Mix is that perfect blend of electronic dance music and what some may say is one of the current metamorphosis of hip hop. He lays down a thick layer of Rustie goodness and sprinkles in his favorite tracks from the likes of HudMo, Lone, Destinys Child, Dorian Concept, Bok Bok & L-vis 1990, Drake, and yes even some Danny Brown for good measure. It's a mix that will entertain the dance crazed 4 on the 4 floor crowd who's looking for bpms and rhythms that will excite. It'll even get those Dillaheads and Low End Theory kids boppin their heads. All in all it's the perfect edition for BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix and continues the tradition of dj mixes that raise the bar for djing, song selection, production, and just plain good fun music.

Giraffage - LUV [Upcoming Event + Tour Dates]

Giraffage : Official | Facebook | Twitter | Bandcamp

Five hours ago or so I was sipping on some coffee getting ready to handle some Dank Radio emails and had an extreme hunger for something new and fresh. I've already went through all the latest posts from all the Dank Radio contributors and was still a tad bit hungry. So I turned to the hommies over at I.T.S. Music Playground Facebook Group to see what they had. Here's where I discovered Girrafage's track below, LUV. It definitely hit the spot and to my amazement and further internet search I discovered that he's going to be performing this Thursday @ The Echoplex for a FYF Fest event [More Info|Tix]. If this isn't the universe speaking to me then I don't know what is. Check out the track below. For all of the FlyLo + Brainfeeder + Low End + HudMo fans I'm sure you'll enjoy it just as I did. If it moves you to further explore I suggest checking him out @ The Echoplex this Thursday...

Bibio - Excuses [Music Video]

Bibio [Warp Records] : Official | Facebook | Twitter
As always, UK artists/labels/etc. share their music right when I'm about to call it a night and power down the machines. Last night[technically early morning around 5am] I saw this strange mysterious video and thought, "Hmm, one more song for tonight won't hurt. I'm dead tired and my eyes are starting to burn but I'm still hungry for more." As I sat and feasted I began to experience what could best be described as a visual and audible treat, containing flavors that would entice any and all taste buds yearning for more James Blake, Four Tet, HudMo, and FlyLo. Wow. It's rare that I'm moved to purchase full releases after tasting a sample plate but I'm going to pick this up on March 29th. If you too are still hungry for more you can check out the album sampler here.

Rustie - Sunburst EP

Rustie: Official | Facebook | Twitter | Purchase @ Juno | Beatport

G1ockz gave me the heads up about a week or so ago about this dude on Warp who sounds like HudMo but with more of an emphasis on crazy guitar solos and even crazier synth lines. I honestly didn't think it was possible. But then again, everything in this life cycle is possible.

So we pulled up his page on the Warp website and the first thing I see is this piece of album artwork that just jumps out at me. I thought it was something straight out of a Thundercats episode or some other cartoon tv show or video game from the 80s that G1ockz would of then proceeded to tell me about. If you're looking for groovy head bangin' hands in the air party with your good times until the sun rises and falls on repeat, get the EP. And if that's not enough to convince you Rustie still DJs w/ tables and he's even mixed his EP for your previewing pleasure...

Rustie - Sunburst EP Minimix (out 4/5 October on Warp Records) by Warp Records

And to further illustrate the awesomeness of this EP is the visual aid below staring Steve Martin and John Candy. I'm pretty sure this isn't the official video for Hyperthrust but they should use the same movie clips. Come to think of it that car spinning part reminds me of a crazy car crash story G1ockz told us about. And John Candy's dance moves look like something I did while i was watching Rusko at Abstract Fest last year.
