Duke Dumont - BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix - Future Stars of 2013 [DJ Mix + Tracklist]
Duke Duke Duke Dumont. You can say this Londoner is my favorite producer at the moment. The first track of his I really liked was Thunder Clap. It's one of those 127 bpm high energy ones that at the time was easily blendable to the big room bangers I was spinning more of at that period. As time went on my grooves started slowing down and getting more base line friendly and really focused on soulful vocals. I forgot how I discovered it but I stumbled upon his track Need U (100%) [purchase @ Beatport] and boy oh boy was I hooked. Annie Mac went with the perfect choice for her BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix - Future Stars of 2013. He starts of the mix nice and sexxxi and rides it out for a while and then he goes for a brief increase in energy and then brings it back down to sexxxi. There's a lot of groovy dance floor heaters in this mix. Press play, turn it up, and dance away.

SMOG presents: Rustie @ SMOG Sundays 5/20/12 [Concert Review]

SMOG presents: Rustie [Warp Records] @ SMOG Sundays//Dim Mak Studios
Big ups and many thanks to Drew and everyone w/ the SMOG crew for their continued support + hospitality. By far some of the easiest + coolest cats to work with. We made the trek up to hollyhood on holiest of days, the Sabbath. For some it's a day of rest and for those like us it's a day to absorb and experience new music. We brought along our fellow alien artist travelers, Bass Commander + T'Challa Lee from the band Z, along with us so they too could experience this form of Bass music first hand...

Rustie - BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix [Tour Dates + Upcoming Event]
Rustie : Facebook | Twitter | Soundcloud : Purchase Glass Swords @ iTunes | Amazon | Bleep
Guess who's back? That's right. I am ;) To start this off we're going super crazy groovy bust your neck kind of beats with a melodic sense to sing your girlfriend to sleep. We've shared our great love for his music in the past and have shed some light on some of his favorite video game(s) [hint: Triforce]. If you've been sleeping under a rock in Hyrule it's time for you to wipe those eye boogers off your face and check out the one and only, Rustie. I can't believe I barely found out about his essential mix earlier tonight. I've been slacking on my Essential Mix game and it's because sometimes our personal RPGs take longer than planned to finish. His Essential Mix is that perfect blend of electronic dance music and what some may say is one of the current metamorphosis of hip hop. He lays down a thick layer of Rustie goodness and sprinkles in his favorite tracks from the likes of HudMo, Lone, Destinys Child, Dorian Concept, Bok Bok & L-vis 1990, Drake, and yes even some Danny Brown for good measure. It's a mix that will entertain the dance crazed 4 on the 4 floor crowd who's looking for bpms and rhythms that will excite. It'll even get those Dillaheads and Low End Theory kids boppin their heads. All in all it's the perfect edition for BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix and continues the tradition of dj mixes that raise the bar for djing, song selection, production, and just plain good fun music.

Scuba, Maceo Plex- ( Mix Monday )
The month of February has been a good month for tech house and Bass music as bbc radio has been bringing some really good artist for their Essential Mix such as Maceo plex who's mix is just perfect with that deep (love) tech house. Trust me, when you listen to it, you will think of that. Two tracks I noticed from this mix " frisky" starting at 17mins in and transitioning into " Sex Appeal". These are going to be some hot tracks in 2012 and a busy year for Maceo Plex. Enjoy!
This mix starts very deep bass but picks up, Scuba is a producer that just goes beyond the horizon of music genres, stuff to where a lot of clubs in America would not want to book him because his sound its not ("Levels") material. But he keeps it real of what he wants to produce and I'm a big fan of that. He also just released an album called "Personality" on hotflushrecordings take a listen and purchase it. Enjoy!

Jack Beats - Deeper (Dubs For Clubs: Part 2) [Free Download + Tour Dates]
Jack Beats : Facebook | Twitter | Soundcloud
As stated in many previous posts of our enjoyment of all things Jack Beats, it was truly a pleasure to FINALLY have this track in my possession. It's been around since around 2009 and was featured in Jack Beats' BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. Ever since I first heard it I've been on a search for a proper version and not a radio rip. Here's what Plus One & Beni G had to say about the track, "Dubs for clubs Part.2: 'Deeper'. This track has been in every club set we've played since back in 2009, when it originally started life as a remix for drum and bass legend TC, for his track "Deep". We never finished the mix and ended up turning it into and original production a while back, and now we've decided to give it away for free, freshly finished off and brought up to date. Massive big ups to TC and Jon & Al (D-Style Records)."

Coachella Cornucopia II - Nero [Tour Dates]

Nero: Official | Facebook | Twitter | Youtube
I'm more than certain I've explained my appreciation for this amazing production/dj duo signed to MTA Records, Nero. But we've been getting a surge of new readers from across the globe so I'll re-hash it briefly. I actually thought Nero was just one dude when first heard of them. The track was Innocence. I don't remember where it was or who shared the music video with me, but at the time it was the coolest thing I've seen. Being a long time fan of Japanese Anime and Sci Fi films/concepts it was something that I've always wanted to do. Something I will probably do in the future to help explain my own music. But these guys beat me to it.

Kaskade - BBC Radio One Essential Mix

Kaskade : Official | Facebook | Twitter | Soundcloud
It was only a matter of time until Kaskade presented us with his very own BBC Radio One Essential Mix [AIRED SEPTEMBER 9, 2011]. Till this day I still have his Coachella 2010 Mix in regular rotation. Having experienced that set first hand gives that mix a very special place in my collection. Now that I'm listening to his current Essential Mix I know for sure this too will leave a permanent mark on music memory bank. To take things up a notch Ryan has even uploaded it onto his Soundcloud for complete unaltered listening. Enjoy!

The Road to EDC Las Vegas 2011: Part 2
Get Down we're nearing Bat Country! What? What?! my attorney yells at me. Who knows what strange creatures we'll find as we approach our final destination. Sure the sub sound infrasonic waves will ward off those U.F.O.'s no matter what happens. But I assure you this Revelation will be an Out Of Body Shutterbug where you'll Get Off All Night long. Yes that's right, I Got You Dancing. But do you hear that? The inner mind starts to escape it's own Labyrinth of Carnival mazes just in time for you to meet your maker who's a pretty little Jebus freak. Yes, you had had your fun. I'm Not Your Toy! The Road to EDC Las Vegas 2011: Part 1
How and where to begin? It's the week of Summer Solstice. The weather is supposed to start to heat up. Everyone and their tucked away dance deprived musically malnourished inner-selves can't wait for the weekend to arrive. It's like when we saw Wolfgang Gartner debut his new stage production at Avalon not too long ago. Impatiently waiting. Trying to get a peak behind the curtains. Waiting anxiously as we dance to the DJs who went on before him, but secretly conserving all of our energy for the Undertaker, the Maestro, the Cosmic Conductor keeping us gasping for air as we cry out for Space Junk.Wolfgang-Gartner-Essential-Mix-320

Jack Beats - Jack Loves You UK & North America Tour 2011 [Tour Dates]
Jack Beats : Facebook | Twitter | Soudcloud
When I first started walking down the path of dance music I was still searching for something to keep me grounded in what I grew up with. I was searching for an artist to bridge the gap between the hip hop/DJ[Turntablist] culture that was always present in daily life[while growing up] and the ever growing 4 on the floor that was becoming more present each day. After spending many early morning/late night hours digital crate digging I discovered Jack Beats.

Nero - Me And You [NEW VIDEO]
I knew deep down inside a long long time ago that the nerds would rise up and control the world. There are the obvious areas such as math, science, and computers. But who knew all the kids who spent all their time playing video games would turn into some of the best music producers in the world. [In my book at least.] You have Flying Lotus who has said time and time again he attributes his music to his love of video games. The recent collaboration between Daft Punk and the new Tron movie. Now we have dubstep|drum&bass producer|djs Nero [MTA records] sharing with us their Double Dragon|Punisher inspired music video to their upcoming release titled Me And You [iTunes Pre Order]. And as a bonus you can download Nero's BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix down below. It's one of my favorite mixes at the moment and it truly is a musical journey from start to finish. Can't wait to see them perform at Together As One.

Savage Skulls & Douster feat. Robyn - Bad Gal (Crookers Remix)
I've always wondered what the name of the track that was playing right underneath Florence + The Machine - Drumming Song (Jack Beats Remix) during the Jack Beats Essential Mix. I scoured the internet searching day and night. I mixed and matched different tracks in my library to see if I was just overlooking a break/loop/something. But to no avail, I always came up empty and figured it was just one of those tracks they all had because they're all buddies and it would never be released. Fortunately, for my extremely curious ears Mad Decent released Savage Skulls & Douster's new EP Get Rich Or High Tryin [Turntable Lab/Beatport US/Beatport UK/EU]. It contains the track that I've been looking for all this time. Check it out and see if you can recognize the part I'm talking about.<->Nativity<->
