Botnek Europe Tour 2011 [Live Video + Free Download]

Botnek : Official | Facebook | Twitter | Soundcloud

Very cool + entertaining video of the dudes from Botnek traveling across Europe on tour. The whole video was shot w/ a phone, my guess it was an iPhone, and it was edited by DPV Design. Just goes to show you can capture really good moments with your handy pocket sized multipurpose comm device. I highly suggest you check out Botnek's music. If you're into Jack Beats + Crookers you're really really really enjoy it.

Jack Beats - Deeper (Dubs For Clubs: Part 2) [Free Download + Tour Dates]

Jack Beats : Facebook | Twitter | Soundcloud

As stated in many previous posts of our enjoyment of all things Jack Beats, it was truly a pleasure to FINALLY have this track in my possession. It's been around since around 2009 and was featured in Jack Beats' BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. Ever since I first heard it I've been on a search for a proper version and not a radio rip. Here's what Plus One & Beni G had to say about the track, "Dubs for clubs Part.2: 'Deeper'. This track has been in every club set we've played since back in 2009, when it originally started life as a remix for drum and bass legend TC, for his track "Deep". We never finished the mix and ended up turning it into and original production a while back, and now we've decided to give it away for free, freshly finished off and brought up to date. Massive big ups to TC and Jon & Al (D-Style Records)."

The Road to EDC Las Vegas 2011: Part 2

Get Down we're nearing Bat Country! What? What?! my attorney yells at me. Who knows what strange creatures we'll find as we approach our final destination. Sure the sub sound infrasonic waves will ward off those U.F.O.'s no matter what happens. But I assure you this Revelation will be an Out Of Body Shutterbug where you'll Get Off All Night long. Yes that's right, I Got You Dancing. But do you hear that? The inner mind starts to escape it's own Labyrinth of Carnival mazes just in time for you to meet your maker who's a pretty little Jebus freak. Yes, you had had your fun. I'm Not Your Toy! Where's My Money?

Siriusmo - Mosaik [Album Stream & Interview]

Siriusmo : Official | Pre Order Mosaik : here

The first time I heard a Siriusmo track was from one of Jack Beat's mixes a while back. The song was High Together and upon learning of who the creator was, I instantly dove deep into the digital realm to search for more from this funky producer. There wasn't a whole lot to find, other than a couple out dated promo shots, an EP released here or there, and zero interviews. The closest thing to an interview would be someone else commenting on how he wasn't interested in touring or performing live. And so I kept on searching for whatever track of his I could find. Finally word was received that he was in the process of making a full length. You wouldn't believe how happy I was to read the news. I continued the search for more information on his upcoming release and this is what I found. Mosaik will be released on February 25th on Monkeytown Records [created by Modeselektor]. You can stream clips from the album below. I've also included the only Interview I've been able to find on him. He invites us into his creative space and talks about his artwork, his music, and why he just doesn't like leaving home....

Jack Beats - Jack Loves You UK & North America Tour 2011 [Tour Dates]

Jack Beats : Facebook | Twitter | Soudcloud

When I first started walking down the path of dance music I was still searching for something to keep me grounded in what I grew up with. I was searching for an artist to bridge the gap between the hip hop/DJ[Turntablist] culture that was always present in daily life[while growing up] and the ever growing 4 on the floor that was becoming more present each day. After spending many early morning/late night hours digital crate digging I discovered Jack Beats.

Jack Beats - Mixmag Mini Mix

Jack Beats : Facebook | Twitter | Soudcloud

Was running late for work again this morning and I was trying to find a 6 min. track to play while I got my things in order. Good thing I was logged onto facebook when I saw Jack Beats post this FREE mini mix they did for Mixmag. All you have to do is click on the image on their facebook page and it'll automatically download.

There are lots of things to take into consideration when planning/performing a mix. There's song selection with familiar vs new tracks. You have to pace the vibe and flow of intensity to create a whole musical journey for the listener. To take things to an advance level you can even mix in key and progress all the songs in ascending or descending order. Somehow the Jack Beats managed to do all of this in 5 min and 24 seconds. If you're wondering what two master Turntablists can do when they go from turning skratch tricks into making house hits download the mix and find out. If you're looking for more I've went ahead and included some of my favorite tracks of theirs down below.

Bonus:
Diplo Ft Blaqstarr- Get Off (JACK BEATS REMIX) by Jack Beats

Florence and the Machine- Drumming Song (JACK BEATS REMIX) by Jack Beats

BIG BOI- Shutterbugg (JACK BEATS REMIX *OFFICIAL*) by Jack Beats

Together As One 2011 - Set Times

Official | Facebook | Twitter | Tickets

Growing up my parents always told me and Eccentric that whatever you do during the first moments of the year will be a good gauge of what types of activities will be in-store for the remainder of the year. With that said...

Go Ventures and Insomniac have put together one massive line up for their lucky number 13. Having to decide on whether to spend the countdown with either Laidback Luke, Jack Beats/Major Lazer, or Rusko is just killing us. LBL has held it down each and every single time we've seen him this year and knowing him he'll have some LA treats thrown into his mix for this special occasion. Jack Beats, Wolfgang Gartner, and Nero have all produced mind blowing Essential Mixes. 12th Planet and Kill The Noise have always held it down for the locals and it'll be great to see them at the party. Diplo might even do his special 'ladies' set to get all the females grinding/grooving. And the opportunity to finally witness the Dada Life is just plain bananas.

Whichever artists we do have the opportunity to party with at TAO will in no doubt be a great time. I can't think of any other way I'd like to start off my year. Spending time with my brother, good music, and fun people. 2011 is going to be a fun year, this I'm certain. [Bonus Info: We're heading up to the radio station RIGHT AFTER TAO. In true Dank Radio fashion the party will continue until the sun rises. LIVE BROADCAST // Aziatik Rhythmz Present: Dank Radio // Saturday Jan 1st. 4 - 6am // 90.7fm KPFK // kpfk.org {streaming worldwide}]

Savage Skulls & Douster feat. Robyn - Bad Gal (Crookers Remix)

I've always wondered what the name of the track that was playing right underneath Florence + The Machine - Drumming Song (Jack Beats Remix) during the Jack Beats Essential Mix. I scoured the internet searching day and night. I mixed and matched different tracks in my library to see if I was just overlooking a break/loop/something. But to no avail, I always came up empty and figured it was just one of those tracks they all had because they're all buddies and it would never be released. Fortunately, for my extremely curious ears Mad Decent released Savage Skulls & Douster's new EP Get Rich Or High Tryin [Turntable Lab/Beatport US/Beatport UK/EU]. It contains the track that I've been looking for all this time. Check it out and see if you can recognize the part I'm talking about.

A-Trak - Dirty South Dance 2

A-Trak[Fool's Gold] just released his follow up to Dirty South Dance titled Dirty South Dance 2[via Pigeons & Planes]. To be completely honest I'm not a big fan of the recent mash-ups. If it's a mash-up it better be by 2 Many DJ's or something done with an instrumental vinyl on one turntable and an a capella track on the other turntable. Sure there have been a couple tracks that were pretty cool but those are few in number. Luckily, right from the get go I was drawn into this mix. What better way to start a mix then with Claude VonStroke's song Vocal Chords. He keeps his skratches relevant and necessary just like a master axe shredder filling in the spaces of a song with a few phrases of finger tapping here and a soulful bend of a string there. The EDM feel keeps you dancing and this is no surprise with the inclusion of Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars, Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll (A-Track Remix), DJ Zinc - Blunt Edge, and Joker - Tron. Another track to note is DJ Craze's remix. I wonder if this is a sign of future productions by DJ Craze and maybe a more production type work with DJ Klever. Deep down inside I wish for a DJ Craze/DJ Klever battle with Plus One/Beni G (Jack Beats). Any hoo, stream/download the mixtape below. It's surely going to be in my regular rotation for the next couple months.

Electric Daisy Carnival 2010 Lineup

The lineup for this years Electric Daisy Carnival Los Angeles has been released and so far it's looking pretty good. Jack Beats had the date on their myspace page as far back as January while Laidback Luke confirmed he was performing on his twitter page not too long ago. Kaskade has also shared through his Facebook page his excitement for the upcoming 2 Day event. And for those of you who complained last year that there was just way too many people on Saturday, it's been reported that they'll be expanding the grounds. "This year there's a lot more ground," said Rotella. "We've had the same basic layout for the past three years, but this time there's a bigger footprint. We'll have two main stages -- an A Stage and a B stage -- and are using a lot of area that we haven't used before. Last year was a little too crowded on Saturday -- Friday was perfect. I don't like it when people are bumping elbows the whole time. With this new footprint, people will be able to breathe." [via] Purchase tickets here.
