Welcome to yet another addition to Paving the Way to Paid Dues, for our fourth edition we feature the hip hop duo TiRon & Ayomari. Both gentlemen are impressive independent artists in their own right however when you put two great minds together you get this impeccable duo. Hailing from the streets of Los Angeles, California Crenshaw and Slauson to be exact, these two are not to be slept on. Their collaboration began when Ayomari was featured on TiRon's first mixtape "Ketchup" in early 2009 and three years later this collaboration of musicianship, skill, and talent is set to hit the stage at this years Paid Dues Hip Hop Festival.
Within those three years both TiRon & Ayomari have released several mix tapes and projects such as Ayomari's "The PB&J Solution" and TiRon's "MSTRD." Adding to their growing work in June 2011 the duo teamed up with DJ Low Key and The Cafeteria line and released their mixtape "T&A (The Prelude to ASFP)" featuring 15 tracks of previously recorded work from the duo along with a couple more tracks that were hidden in their secret arsenal, this includes two guest versus by Tunji who has made a previous appearance on TiRon's mixtape "thegoronniesessions". If you thought that was impressive just a short three weeks proceeding T&A's release they followed up with yet another realease entitled "En Karlekshistoria EP," this seven track EP was recorded in three days during their tour in Sweden and features production from Swedish natives. Their latest release was the much anticipated, "A Sucker For Pumps," which is 14 tracks of sheer auditory goodness. Available for official purchase at iTunes. The production is "-pause-" inducing and what's not to love when they've collaborated and featured some Dank Radio favorites like Thundercat and BJ The Chicago Kid on their album?

Far from the streets of Georgia and Illinois where these two are originally from, they have taken the high road in which success is imminent. Currently both TiRon and Ayomari continue to unapprehensively, humbly, and relentlessly beat on their craft. I think the best part about that is that when you listen to these two you hear them in the glory of their authenticity. When you listen to their lyrics, the beats, the nuances and samples on each track best believe they are at their creative paramount, putting out work that's worthy of their dedication and commitment to producing great, time transcendent music. Low-Quality is not in their agenda and refreshingly absent in their work. Their work ethic, values and most importantly they themselves emanate through their music.

In previous interviews these two have confessed to wanting to showcase the multi-modality of hip hop; all that is is as and all that it can be. If you don't believe me throw on "If I Had You feat.D.R.U.G.S. & Thundercat," that has an electronic feel to it then skip over to "All My Love feat Yummy Bingham," that incorporates a sample from the one and only Slick Rick. Both tracks on the "A Sucker For Pumps" album they not only extend the breadth of what hip-hop can be but it also illustrates TiRon & Ayomari's ridiculous range of musicality and prowess as musicians. both have successfully produced great music that is organic, cultivated from an honest place and nothing less than themselves. And they've done it so well in different scores of hip hop; quite a commendable feat if i might add. A couple of tracks from their library of work your ears need to experience are what "What You Waitin On," "Back To You feat. Seinabo Sey," "The Luncheon," and "The Do."

Truly mavericks of the game (no, not the Dallas Mavericks..) these two very skilled individuals collaboratively work to bring the world great music. With each project, EP, album, mixtape released by these two, it only serves to remind us about the sheer musicianship, heart, and dedication it takes to be independent artists changing the game one set of ears at a time. TiRon & Ayomari, continue to push the envelope as well as yourselves to create awe-inspiring music in honor all that hip hop was and all that it can be. Music is evolutionary, an ever changing entity, and time transcended if cultivated from a place of honesty and passion. Put your ears up to the music and souls of these two, because they stand to be catalysts in the evolution of great music.
