LBPP.net presents: The 2nd Annual Secret Santa's Toydrive w/ Free Moral Agents [Concert Review]

A light drizzle didn't stop local fans from suiting up in winter coats and scarves to head down to LBPP.net presents: The 2nd Annual Secret Santa's Toydrive w/ Free Moral Agents. I made the 5 min drive to downtown Long Beach with two toys in hand[It was buy one get one free] unsure of what to expect of Ikey Owen[keyboardist of The Mars Volta]'s band Free Moral Agents.

I think the best way to describe Free Moral Agents is the word dynamic. Everything about this band entails a dynamic approach. Whether it be the space in the songs that sound like they came from Radiohead's Kid A or Pink Floyd's On The Run, the vocal style of Mendee Ichikawa that remind me of Florence + The Machine, or the simple vs complex groves, they were all dynamic. It was a set of songs built for a grander stage and yet we were all treated to an intimate glimpse of how they sound when they're playing amongst themselves.
