I can't help but listen to ska music whenever I have a day off. It's like a natural energetic pick it up pick it up kind of energy. I don't think I ever got a chance to see Save Ferris with it's original line up, but later down the road I did have a chance to play on the same bill with their second evolution Starpool, which coincidentally is named after Starpool Records which put out Save Ferris' first album "Introducing Save Ferris". I'll be posting a skanky tune here and there as the summer progresses.

It's my firm belief that it's quite rare to find another human being that vibrates at either the same frequency as you or at a relative complimentary frequency. Say you're ringing out at C and you come across someone that's at about a G. When you put those together you form a C power chord. One of the most basic and most widely used forms of chordal music that everyone who listens to punk rock and classic rock can relate to. So during a show not too long ago I met a G note. He was a cool dude who was rocking a marvel comics t-shirt and on top of that I was digging the music he was performing. We chit chatted and I was surprised to find out we shared similar tastes in comics, anime, and music. Time traveling to more current dates I find out that I'll be performing at his CD release show. With all these situation unraveling I couldn't help but use this opportunity to do an origin story with this specific artistically inclined character. Fabricated and myself will be spinning a back to back DJ set later on tonight down at Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa. We haven't done a back to back DJ set since 2011(?) and the last time we did something like that, this is what happened. Also performing are a handful of friends from the I.T.S. Music Playground collective: SMÜRKO + Static_Cast + Junior Chavez. It'll be a fun party and a guaranteed great way to kick of the weekend. The event is 21+ and FREE before 10pm. The Yost Theater + Into The AM Present: Brodinski w/ Bones + Mister Blaqk + Blankface 3/14/12 [Upcoming Event]

Big ups to the local producer/dj Blankface for informing me of this upcoming event [+ putting me on his artist guest list ;)] occurring later on tonight down in Orange County at Yost Theater. He'll be performing upstairs from 10pm - 11pm with an onslaught of original deep dubstep productions while the likes of Mister Blaqk and Bones (GottaDanceDirty) get the main stage crowd ready for Brodinski. Brodinski's first release on Bromance Records featured two tracks that use almost in every DJ set of mine. The first track is one of his own titled "Let the Beat Control Your Body" which features Los Angeles' very own Louisahhh!. It's one of the very few techno tracks I can get away with spinning on a main floor occupied by top 40 heads. The other track on that same release is by another talented producer/dj, Gesaffelstein, titled "Control Movement". I've been following Brodinski's mixes + productions for a while now and am quite excited to finally see him in action. Like me, he is a lover of hip hop music and has a tendency to start off certain mixes w/ heavy doses of pelvic thrusting hip hop gangster classics. See you on the dancefloor.

Big ups Flinch for his latest track Light It Up, which is now available for purchase at iTunes. Quite a sexxxi tune for a super chill dude. I don't think I've ever had a bad conversation with him, nor have I seen him spin a lackluster set. Always on his toes and ready to share the latest and greatest bass music. Speaking of his sets, he's going to be performing later on TONIGHT at the Dubtroit 3 Year Anniversary w/ 12th Planet over at The Observatory. I was at the Dubtroit 2 Year Anniversary and that was one hell of a night. I can only imagine the insanity which will ensue later on. Tickets are still available, but it may sell out soon. Tommie Sunshine at The Yost Theater 2/4/12 [Concert Review]

Well to start off i would like to thank nytehype for their hospitality for the night. So let's get to it. The Yost itself is just an awesome venue from inside and out. This was actually my first time visiting this venue, I have been hearing a lot of good things about it. It definitely lived up to it's hype, the stage setup was just perfect, huge led screen in the background, sound system was excellent, you could even enjoy the concert from the bar area without "dancers" bumping into you. If you live in the OC, even LA area, I would def take a drive down to Santa Ana to check it out. Here is a little preview of what Show Saturdays is about.

What do lost keys + Orange County + Donalde Glaude have in common? Normally nothing at all, but on a fine winter evening a series of random events all culminated into me becoming fairly intoxicated and in a good samaritan situation to help out another human being, Vince Do. Due to the hospitality of one local EDM enthusiast / promoter / manager / cool dude, Jordan White, I checked out The Yost Theater out of curiosity. After experiencing Donald Glaude perform a wonderful set Jordan introduced me to Vince who was looking everywhere retracing his steps to find his car keys. We combed the parking lot thrice [cops noticed and thought we were trying to steal a car. seriously?!], walked around the venue twice, and looked everywhere one would normally misplace their keys. We looked everywhere except his jacket pocket. Funny how we always lose things and find them in our pockets. Any hoo I almost called AAA a few times and inadvertently used the time spent walking around searching for the keys to sober myself up. So there goes the origin story of how I met him. Don't you just love origin stories? We'll save stories about when I DJed at two of his club nights for another time. For now we'll continue on with the interview.
