Our friends over at IHeartComix have quite the lineup to kick off their first OFF/CNTR 2013 event this Saturday February 22nd. They've rounded up the likes of Jimmy Edgar [Hot Flush|Warp|Berlin] + Addison Groove [50Weapons|Tectonic|UK] + Grenier [Tectonic|Frite Nite] + Sodapop [Anticon] to perform at Los Globos. We've been spinning Jimmy Edgar's recent productions with Machinedrum under the creative alias, Jets, on a handful of recent Dank Radio episodes. For those of you who saw the Disclosure b2b Skream Boiler Room set that was Jets [Jimmy Edgar + Machinedrum] who did the set right before them. This Tuesday we are proud to bring you the Orange County debut of Blond:ish [Official | Facebook | Twitter | Soundcloud] ! This will be an exclusive So Cal appearance by the duo (Anstacia & Vive-Ann) and we are super excited. In the last few years, Blond:ish has carved out a unique production recipe which focuses on the art of creating music that is organic and multi-dimensional. Provocative basslines contrasted with smooth textures and sticky vocals that blend into a genre of house that rebels against being pigeonholed to any specific category.

Snowball Music Festival 2013 [Line Up + Upcoming Event + Tickets On Sale]

I've never heard of Snowball Music Festival [Official] until recently, but with a line up containing the likes of Pretty Lights + Kendrick Lamar + Portugal The Man + Flying Lotus + Delta Spirit + Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs you can't help but take notice. The festival occurs in Winter Park Colorado during the March 8-10th weekend. For those of you looking for new, different, adventurous surroundings to go with you musical meditations you might want to look into Snowball. You can get your tickets here.

SMOG Sunday Night Sessions return this Sunday January 20th with N-Type [Wheel & Deal + Sin City + Rinse FM]. Also performing is SMOG's very own Kelly Dean, which will be celebrating his release of the Firewall EP [Purchase @ beatport] + Stax of Filth FM. As usual MC duties will be held by Kemst. The event will take place not in it's usual location, but rather over in Santa Monica at the Central SAPC. I spun a set at Central a while ago, and from what I can remember the system is pretty proper. Expect good times, good bass, good people. Get your pre-sales here.

The OG Dirtybirds are back in Los Angeles! I've been fortunate enough to have experienced both of these fine and funny artists a couple of times this past year. Always with smiles on their faces and enough bass to more our asses, I guaranDAMNtee that you'll be making your booty clap all night long this Friday. If you're not into the booty clapping thing that's fine, I'm sure they'll be having you do all sorts of push up push down dances that'll make even the prettiest birds sing to you "Don't Go" or better yet, "Lezgo!" As the outlet for Southern California's creative + musical + mind + body + soul + earth conscience concert goers has grown into a full fledged festival experience, many have started their journey into the Memorial Day weekend event long ago. This year sees the return of Bassnectar and The Glitch Mob. Both artists have had loving support through the years as they've grown from regional acts to national headliners. A Long Beach native, it looks like Long Beach has once again cultivated another talented artist. Formerly a heavy jerkin rapper, TayF3rd proves to have evolved into a bigger and badder entity in the hip hop game. Ask anyone who’s got their ears to the streets, TayF3rd holds it down for Eastside Long Beach, if you don't believe me, listen to his mix tapes entitled "Sand Box" and "I Am Long Beach," that will put all qualms to rest. Perceivably charismatic and possessing an insatiable hunger for life, living and thriving. Despite his long hair TayF3rd is both an artist and a business man with an aptitude for the streets. His music and work reflect nothing less than his mastery of both attributes. TayF3rd continues to make music with an undeniable west coast feel. Not to be mistaken with those who came before TayF3rd is an entity all his own. Despite his large following TayF3rd continues to be an allusive rapper whose hard hitting and entrancing music will soon put an end to his anonymity. Throwing on any of his tracks, it becomes difficult to not turn it up and have a good time hitting the hustle or stepping' out. A couple of TayF3rd tracks that need to be give a listen are, "On My Shit," "Mailman Mailman," and "Conceited," Currently TayF3rd is putting in work and making more magic in the studio. Needless to say his new work is much anticipated and with his upcoming performance at Paid Dues 2012 his success will only multiply like the racks he's after. No introduction needed for Breakage, the man representing bass music so deep that Pete Tong describes it as music that communicates with whales and deep sea creatures. Having experienced his performance at last years Coachella I can attest to what Mr Tong has stated. Many selections from his latest release titled Foundation [purchase @ Beatport | Amazon], currently out on Digital Soundboy, are staple tracks in not only my dj sets, fabricated's sets, but on Dank Radio as well. His track Justified was my introduction to his sound and I later become obsessed with tracks like Old Skool Ting and Hard after hearing them for the first time during his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. His set later on tonight is surely not to be missed. Don't sleep on tickets. You don't want to be sorry you did...

LBL is bringing Zedd + Congorock + GTA and his Super You & Me party to Hollywood's Palladium on March 10th. I can't wait for what's in store. Luke has a tendency to combine The Punisher + Spider Man + Optimus Prime into his own Voltron like musical craziness. I've seen him more than 5 times and every single set was unique and intense in it's own way. So I wonder, what is he going to transform into this time at the Palladium...
