It's my firm belief that it's quite rare to find another human being that vibrates at either the same frequency as you or at a relative complimentary frequency. Say you're ringing out at C and you come across someone that's at about a G. When you put those together you form a C power chord. One of the most basic and most widely used forms of chordal music that everyone who listens to punk rock and classic rock can relate to. So during a show not too long ago I met a G note. He was a cool dude who was rocking a marvel comics t-shirt and on top of that I was digging the music he was performing. We chit chatted and I was surprised to find out we shared similar tastes in comics, anime, and music. Time traveling to more current dates I find out that I'll be performing at his CD release show. With all these situation unraveling I couldn't help but use this opportunity to do an origin story with this specific artistically inclined character. The Temper Trap - Rabbit Hole [Track Preview + Forthcoming Album]

The Temper Trap has been one of my all-time favorite bands to listen to wherever I am and whatever I'm doing. This Australian band's album Conditions was released more or less 2 1/2 years ago and after having their single "Sweet Disposition" featured on (500) Days Of Summer (or as I like to sometimes refer to as 500 Days Of Bummer; you'll get it if you watch the movie), they were launched into the mainstream and almost everyone around me knew who they were, even if they didn't listen to a whole lot of indie rock music. I was pretty excited when I saw this posted up yesterday because I've been waiting for the day that The Temper Trap announces their next album.

Don't think I've ever heard a pop song that had it's base structure a creak of a squeaky screen door. That would have to be a first for me. The Ting Ting's Soul Killing just has a feel good summer party vibe to it. It has the "I can bob my head as I drive down Pacific Coast Highway" beat. With lyrics speaking against youthful and expressive restraint from a big and/or small city this song just screams radio single. Not that being a radio single track is necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes you need a 3 min catchy pop tune to cleanse your pallet from those 6+ min dance tunes or those 9+ min orchestral arrangements.

[via] Uhm. How do I put this tactfully? Well, Die Antwoord has always been slightly difficult for me to digest. It might be the shock factor. One thing I'll give them is they demand attention. You can't help but check these guys out. In addition to their gravitating attention they put on one hell of a show. It's like combining the late 80s/early 90s stage presence of Red Hot Chilli Peppers + the insanity and shock value of someone like Slipknot. Any hoo, I'm really diggin' their track above "I Fink U Freeky". I think it's a multi use DJ track if applied in the correct way.
