Focus OC Present: Blond:ish 1/22 [Upcoming Event + Tickets On-Sale]

This Tuesday we are proud to bring you the Orange County debut of Blond:ish [Official | Facebook | Twitter | Soundcloud] ! This will be an exclusive So Cal appearance by the duo (Anstacia & Vive-Ann) and we are super excited. In the last few years, Blond:ish has carved out a unique production recipe which focuses on the art of creating music that is organic and multi-dimensional. Provocative basslines contrasted with smooth textures and sticky vocals that blend into a genre of house that rebels against being pigeonholed to any specific category.

Their tracks have been featured on labels like Get Physical, NM2 (Noir Music 2), Mile End, Defected and more. This duo rides off each other's hefty musical knowledge and flawless technique with their diverse personas only adding to the intrigue. Anstascia's unruly demeanor and creative spark spirals against Vivie-Ann's scientific and geek-chic flair in a whirlwind of inspiration and contrast. The result is a force to be reckoned with, a vibe that effortlessly transcends in the studio, behind the booth and more than anything, to the dancefloor.

This will definitely be a big night for us especially since this is the only place in Southern California you can see Blond:ish play [Purchase tickets here]. - Focus OC

Focus Presents: Martin Buttrich @ Focus Tuesdays 2/21 [Concert Review + Upcoming Focus Events]

martin buttrich | focus-oc

First off i would like to thank focus-oc for their generosity of having me attend Martin-Buttrich. From Long Beach to tapas newportbeach it was a bit of a drive but totally worth it. It also was my first time attending Focus. I didn't really know what to expect but i knew they were all about house music and basically keeping it real with the music they love, big ups on that.

Martin Buttrich is a very well known artist of mixing behind a console in front of a virtual drum kit, pretty much it's a very technical way of mixing music . On Tuesday February 22nd at 12am, he set the tone of some crazy stuff drifting to some techno to house and minimal, one track in particular that he dropped was like a deep techno minimal track called produced by Martin Buttrich himself called "Back It Up" released on desolat music group. He was also nominated for a grammy in 2003 for a remix track of tori amos "Don't make me come to vegas". Overall I thought it was a really good set from him, and from the vibe i felt from the crowd they too could feel it also. - semA

Focus presents: Martin Buttrich @ Focus Tuesdays 2/21 [Press Release + Tickets On-Sale]

Focus presents: Martin Buttrich [Desolat, Planet E] @ Focus Tuesdays 2/21 | Tickets

"Martin Buttrich is famously as fluent behind a mixing console as in front of a virtual drum kit. That technical prowess, combined with a fascination for music of every shape, has resulted in outstanding releases on influential labels such as Planet E, Four:Twenty, Cocoon, Poker Flat, Nervous and Desolat. He’s also put his sonic thumbprint on many big ticket artists, notably receiving a Grammy nomination for a Tori Amos remix in 2003. Such diverse musical horizons are rare. While other prolific artists may have slowly watered down their music, Buttrich’s star has risen in diametric opposition. His vision has become more and more condensed, more and more crystallised. Flipping and puncturing grooves in a live setting is a snap for him, and he’s entranced audiences at festivals like Time Warp and Creamfields, at temples of boom such as Fabric (London), Womb (Tokyo), Cocoon (Frankfurt), Panorama Bar (Berlin) and Amnesia (Ibiza) and at worldwide Desolat Experience parties with Loco Dice.

Along with Focus Resident DJ Nonfiction & Brando Commando we couldn't be more excited for Tuesday. This is Martin Buttrich's first ever appearance at Focus and one of those nights you don't want to miss.

P.S. If you sign up for the membership you can get in for Tonight with Martin Buttrich along with: Soul Clap, Andy Caldwell, Eats Everything & Yolanda Be Cool. More info on www.Focus-OC.com/tickets" - Focus
