Usually I click on tracks that my favorite producers/artists/djs post on facebook/twitter and usually 75% of the time they're really good, 50% good enough for me to use in my dj sets, 25% so good that I'm tempted to hoard the track for my own personal enjoyment. The track below fits in the top 25% of songs that I find. I was really really really tempted to keep this a secret, but I reminded myself of when I 'discovered' James Blake's CMYK through one of Diplo's post a while ago. I couldn't contain the excitement and I had to share it with any/every one. The track below is one of those. So sexxxi. So groovy. So I had to share it.

I've always wondered how he would present this song live. It's one of those special tunes that I like to think to myself, "Yeah I remember when I told you about this track and you didn't get it. Now you're all about it. It's all good though." It's like the lyrics, "Look I found her. Damn!" I guess that's how you feel when you find a song/artist/album/performance/dj/producer and you look around you and know one knows what you're talking about. Eventually/slowly/surely the people around you catch on and all they can say is, "Damn!". I've missed every single one of his performances in LA due to financial constraints [poor money management truthfully]. [Yeah I missed his surprise DJ set at Low End Theory.] Any hoo, I'm glad that everyone around me is starting to discover his music. Good music shouldn't be hoarded selfishly. It should be shared with everyone, even those who aren't quick to listen openly. When they do eventually listen, just remember to try not to tell them, "I told you so."

As always, UK artists/labels/etc. share their music right when I'm about to call it a night and power down the machines. Last night[technically early morning around 5am] I saw this strange mysterious video and thought, "Hmm, one more song for tonight won't hurt. I'm dead tired and my eyes are starting to burn but I'm still hungry for more." As I sat and feasted I began to experience what could best be described as a visual and audible treat, containing flavors that would entice any and all taste buds yearning for more James Blake, Four Tet, HudMo, and FlyLo. Wow. It's rare that I'm moved to purchase full releases after tasting a sample plate but I'm going to pick this up on March 29th. We first shared the amazing music by James Blake with you all back in April of 2010. Through the random tweets of Diplo and my usual cases of insomnia I discovered the uniqueness of his music. His originality hasn't slowed down a bit and he's further pushing how one can progress in sound expression. Those not familiar will be surprised to know he started off with intentions to create dubstep but kept on scrapping sounds that weren't original to him.

Below you will find a beautiful performance of The Wilhelm Scream first heard and shared with the world on BBC Radio 1. It's the second track of his upcoming debut self titled release which will be released later this year on ATLAS/A&M. You can pre-order the album here. Press play and enjoy...

Wow. That's all I could say the first time I let CMYK by James Blake play out. Major thank you to Diplo for tweeting about this. (I'm not going to take credit for finding this, no sir.) Anyway, what's not to like about this track? the creative use of samples? the soulful groove? the thick synth lines? If you're looking something along the lines of FlyLo to groove to, then look no further. I don't know what they're feeding these creative minds on the other side of the pond but whatever it is please give them some more.
