This would be an appropriate track to drop if you were to have a DJ gig today. If you don't DJ, you could still play it on your iPod/iPhone speakers during your 4th of July festivities. Both Rusko and Calvin Harris' version are great adaptations of the original. No matter which one you go with I'm sure it'll audibly please yourself and your audience.

Tonight two of my current + favorite producers coming out of the scene make their way to Orange County. We have Hard Rock Sofa coming all the way from Russia with their hard hitting electro type synthesis. You might of hard one of their many productions created along with Swanky Tunes such as their take on The Stooges' "I Wanna Be Your Dog", or their remix of Swanky Tunes track "Together". Both of which have in one point in time ended up in a dj set of mine. Along with HRS hails South East Asia's prince of house, Angger Dimas. Having studied under Laidback Luke through the LBL forums, Angger Dimas has shared his take on tracks ranging from the likes of Avicii, Calvin Harris, Coldplay, and Kelis. I hope everyone[those celebrating in the States + our readers around the world] had a great day today. For those of you who don't celebrate and/or are not from any of the US states/territories/etc. etc. you may find it comforting that I did not have any BBQ today, nor did I see any fireworks of any kind. To be honest with you I slept throughout most of the day[I've been trying to "fix" my sleep schedule]. Any hoo I'm going to end today by listening to a couple new EPs and watch Will Smith beat up some Intergalactic Aliens with the dude from Jurassic Park.

For those of you who may have been on the fence about attending this years Beyond Wonderland [Insomniac], the following line up for the Queens Domain might be the kicker to help you make up your mind. Having experienced Kaskade's amazing sets throughout last year he has yet to disappoint me. I witnessed Dirty South mix and match different parts of my favorite songs during last years Coachella and was in awe of the creativity of mixing style. Calvin Harris performed what most described as a near perfect set during last years Hard Haunted Mansion. fabricated gave me the heads up on Funkagenda's background and piano skills and I'm excited to see him for the first time. Adrian Lux's Teenage Crime was in constant iTunes rotation ever since it came out last summer. PeaceTreaty has gone from creating an awesome remix for Laidback Luke, signing with Dim Mak, rocking the main stage at Avalon, and now they're performing at one of Southern California's most treasured massives, Beyond Wonderland. Together with the incredible line up for the Caterpillars Garden, Madhatters Castle, and Chess Village this is beginning to look a lot like an event that you don't want to miss. - Nativity

fabricated introduced me to Sigma's remix of Fenech-Soler's track Demons a couple days ago and the chorus really just stuck with me. It was one of those where you can picture the vocalist really belting out each word with every ounce of emotion in their being. After playing the track over and over for about 7 times or so I finally checked out the original version and, "Wow!" Let's just say I've been playing this song everyday at least 10 times a day. If you're looking for something on the lines of Calvin Harris you'll like this track. The lyrics will speak to anyone who's been in a relationship position where the person not only gives you joy but ultimately is the main source of poison eating away at your soul. You could also just interpret the song as ones dependencies on intoxicants. But I'll let you decide...

I’ve been playing out this track for a few weeks now and it’s seriously the soundtrack to my late night drives home. Very ambient sounding dubstep with a strong yet calming drop. I highly suggest checking out Bop’s album Clear Your Mind as well as the remix EP Remix Your Mind, both out on Med School Records (Hospital Records’ more experimental sister record label).

The XX’s XX album is one that I always find myself listening to in my car and at school when I’m studying all the time, so coming across the remixes of the singles was a treat for me when I ran across them and next to the Nosaj Thing remix of “Islands”, this is probably my next favorite remix of The XX. Very garage-y beat with a simple and effective bassline with a top synth that kind of reminds you of Laidback Luke and Steve Angello’s mix for “Show Me Love” by Robin S.

Little Dragon - Recommendation (Toddla T Remix) [Purchase @ Beatport | Juno]
I actually found this track just digging through various online music stores looking for a few tracks to put into the mix I made for the most recent Dank Radio broadcast. What I really love about this track is the deep bass and how it hits hard without sounding like a chainsaw ripping through your eardrums. Recommendation (pun intended): check out the original track – it’s just as catchy and dance-y as this remix.

Utah Jazz - Take No More (N-Type Remix) [Purchase @ Beatport | Juno]
This track is like a well-designed roller coaster to me because first you encounter the smaller drop on a roller coaster that prepares you for what you’re about to encounter; after the turn that follows that, you see the crazier drop and you realize what’s about to happen, so you hold tight and prepare for that gut-wrenching drop. That’s pretty much what this track is for me: a well-designed roller coaster.

Calvin Harris - Flashback (Goldie Remix) [Purchase @ Beatport | Juno]
No joke, the moment I first heard the crescendo of the first second of this track, I already knew I was going to like this. I really enjoyed Calvin Harris’ Ready For The Weekend album as well as some of the remixes of the singles, but I really found myself loving this drum and bass remix and, thanks to Nativity, also Nero’s remix of “You Used To Hold Me”. I recommend checking out the video for the original version of “Flashback” by Calvin Harris. Fun fact: Goldie was in the James Bond film The World Is Not Enough.
