J:Kenzo - J:Kenzo [Album Release]

Digital: Bleep // Physical (CD): Juno
Preorder 2x12": Rough Trade
J:Kenzo's self-titled album on the pioneering dubstep label Tempa was released this past Monday, September 24 as a CD and digital download (and as far as I know, the double 12" vinyl is available for preorder on Rough Trade).

If you've heard any of J:Kenzo's Daily Dose of Dubstep mixes on Mistajam's BBC Radio 1Xtra show, then you may have heard sneak peeks of the album's tracks such as "Semtex," "Ruffhouse," and the long-awaited "Invaderz" – which was released last month on Tempa as a single with "Depth Charge" as the B-side.

Although J:Kenzo's been getting a lot more mainstream exposure lately, his music still reflects the deeper and darker sounds of dubstep that contrast the more well-known mainstream midrange bangers that seem to be making its way into commercial pop music.

Here's the tracklisting (CD+digital):

1. Statement of Intent
2. Eyes Wide Open (feat. Rhianna Kenny)
3. Semtex
4. Invaderz
5. Ruffhouse (feat. Rod Azlan)
6. No Man's Land (feat. Footsie)
7. Reconstruct
8. Contagion
9. Body Heat
10. Ironclad
11. Holocron
12. Engage (digital exclusive)

And for those of you who live in the Southern California area or are going to be in the area next month, J:Kenzo will be headlining the SMOG Sunday Night Sessions at Los Globos in Los Angeles, CA on October 14th with support from New Zealand's Truth and SMOG's own DLX. Do not miss this!
