Baths - ♥ (Daedelus' Snorlax Remix)

There is no better way to start the week other than a new composition that goes hand in hand with the emotions of Mother Earth. It's a cloudy and breezy day here in Long Beach and the maestro Daedelus has presented us with a beautifully sorrow tune. It's beauty is that it is whole heartedly honest in the way it breathes comfort into pain. Despite how depressing that may sound, the track truly lifts ones spirits.

Baths - ♥ (Daedelus' Snorlax Remix)

The original version of ♥ by Los Angeles based beat creator Baths stands on it's own. It focuses more on a steady pulsating rhythm with accents of a droning piano progression. This song along with Maximalist and Hall (available for DL below) will be featured on his upcoming debut release titled Cerulean. The CD release show is scheduled for July 3rd at The Troubadour (Daedelus is also scheduled to perform) [purchase tickets here]. If you can't wait for the July 3rd performance Baths has a string of other local dates including tonight's appearance at Low End Theory.

Kanye West - Power

Kanye West [G.O.O.D. Music] is back. Here's a bangin' track from his upcoming album
Good Ass Job which is set for a June release. The track was produced by S1 (Symbolyc One) of the Strange Fruit Project and features a nice sample from King Crimson. I can't even begin to imagine how hard he's going with this album and I don't even know what to expect from the tracks he's conjured up with the likes of RZA, Q-Tip, and Pete Rock.

"I know damn well ya'll feelin' this shit"

Lazerproof has arrived and it's available for the masses, brought to you by Major Lazer (Diplo/Switch) and La Roux. The Mad Decent page went down yesterday morning with about 200,000 people trying to download this mixtape when it was unleashed. A-Trak - Dirty South Dance 2

A-Trak[Fool's Gold] just released his follow up to Dirty South Dance titled Dirty South Dance 2[via Pigeons & Planes]. To be completely honest I'm not a big fan of the recent mash-ups. If it's a mash-up it better be by 2 Many DJ's or something done with an instrumental vinyl on one turntable and an a capella track on the other turntable. Sure there have been a couple tracks that were pretty cool but those are few in number. Luckily, right from the get go I was drawn into this mix. What better way to start a mix then with Claude VonStroke's song Vocal Chords. He keeps his skratches relevant and necessary just like a master axe shredder filling in the spaces of a song with a few phrases of finger tapping here and a soulful bend of a string there. The EDM feel keeps you dancing and this is no surprise with the inclusion of Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars, Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll (A-Track Remix), DJ Zinc - Blunt Edge, and Joker - Tron. Another track to note is DJ Craze's remix. I wonder if this is a sign of future productions by DJ Craze and maybe a more production type work with DJ Klever. Deep down inside I wish for a DJ Craze/DJ Klever battle with Plus One/Beni G (Jack Beats). Any hoo, stream/download the mixtape below. It's surely going to be in my regular rotation for the next couple months.
