Emalkay @ SMOG Presents: Turbulence 07/20 [Concert Review]

SMOG has been on fire lately with all the latest events this past summer. From booking the Digital Mystikz [DMZ] (aka Coki & Mala) at the SMOG Sunday Sessions to Emalkay [Dub Police] for this show – in the same month – SMOG's events have just been getting better and more diverse with each upcoming month.

Turbulence at the Observatory in Santa Ana is a fine example of that wide diversity of bass music that SMOG has to offer to the bass-hungry residents of Southern California. Emalkay headlined this packed 18+ event and killed it with a wide selection of dubstep, from the filthy bangers that got the moshers in the pit going wild (and kicked out, for some) to some of the 808-heavy trap tunes that have been pervading the bass music scene lately.

SPL, R/D, Gener8, Tealong, Torro Torro, Titsworth, and ETC! ETC! provided support for Emalkay at Turbulence with a variety of styles of hard-hitting bass music, from dubstep to moombahton.

Don't forget that on September 15, SMOG is having another SMOG Sunday Night Session with Hyperdub head honcho Kode 9 with support from Salva and Kuma. Make sure you get your tickets because this show might sell out!
