Jakwob at Cinespace 1|25|11 [Concert Review]

Jakwob [Boom Ting Records] - Photo by Nightfox

My brother [e]ccentric, Ms. Nightfox, the LOL Man, and I made the drive up to Cinespace last Tuesday evening for a night of infrasonics and bass thumping music[don't worry fabricated you're joining us for the next show]. For those of you who have been keeping up with our posts you've seen our support for this young and talented UK producer, Jakwob. We've interviewed him to see what his plans were for his label Boom Ting Records and we were treated to an exclusive Hip Hop mix that was aired last month for Dank Radio. So you can imagine the amount of anticipation we had to finally see him make his Los Angeles debut.

Baths - Amoeba Records Live In-Store Performance [Free Concert]

Baths [Anticon] : Official | Facebook | Twitter

We introduced you all to Baths in June of last year with a remix by the always elegant and always humble Daedelus. I would be lying if I said I've experienced his unique sounds first hand, I haven't. But today you all have a chance to. While I'm plugged into the matrix in the land of the cubicles you can make the drive up to Amoeba Records to watch him perform at 7pm. And if you too are stuck plugged into your job like me, you'll have the opportunity to watch him perform at The Troubadour on March 5th[Awesome venue].

There honestly isn't much to say that hasn't already been said about this artist in my previous post. I might think of something later on today. But for now just enjoy it for what it is. Good music...

RX Bandits at House of Blues Anaheim 1|22|11 [Concert Review]

RX Bandits [Sargent House] - Photo by Jacob Khan

As the years go by it's becoming more of a rare occurrence for my brothers [e]ccentric, G1ockz, and D$ to be at the same show as I. One could say it's because our schedules don't always match up or maybe it's that money isn't as available for shows of our favorite artists these days as it once was[ticket prices have gone up over the years haven't they]. Whatever the reason may be it was a fun trip down to No Doubt's backyard to watch our favorite Pharmaceutical Bandits rock the House Of Blues Anaheim stage right next to the "happiest place on earth".

Lemon Sun - Electric Love [Music Video]

Lemon Sun : Official | Facebook

I believe it was the winter of 2008 when I received a brief but detailed myspace message and email introducing this Los Angeles based band called Lemon Sun. It was when I had time to read every single email and during those days I always hoped something new and exciting would just fall into my lap. They asked for radio play and shared stories of regional tours up and down the California coast. I was intrigued so I pressed play.

The songs were from their previous release titled Run With The Faithless. It was catchy, familiar, and had choruses that etched it's way into my mind. The vibe of the tunes were from an era passed but it was definitely something current that I had to see for myself. And so I trekked up to Los Angeles to check out this band that kept on asking for radio play. To my surprise they were very down to earth. Their performance was solid. I couldn't wait to share this with the rest of the crew and all of our listeners throughout the airwaves.

Fast forward a couple years. Haven't seen Rob and the rest of the guys in a while but from the looks of the video below they haven't let off any steam what so ever. If they ever make their way to your favorite music venue make sure you check them out. Tell them I sent you...

Tour Dates:
2/09 Acoustic show w/ Ferraby Lionheart @ Satellite (Spaceland) in LA (Silverlake), CA
3/05 Rob & Pat Acoustic show @ Blue Moon Lounge in Glendale, CA
