Don't remember where I saw/heard them first. All I remember was, I was half asleep fighting to get some work done with the assistance of coffee[didn't work]. Fortunately I stumbled upon this group of Swedes rockin' out w/ lovely vox + upbeat synths + guitar octaves. It kept me awake for the remainder of that night. Couldn't find all that much more info on these gents other than they're from Stockholm, signed to Universal Music Sweden, and they still have a myspace account[i thought everyone deleted theirs?] Any hoo I've included some remixes of Urban Photograph below...

Would love to head up to the Bay for the Saturday installment of the festival. Chromeo always puts on a great show while Flylo always hits the spot in more ways then one can imagine. We had the misfortune of missing Death From Above 1979 at Coachella this year. It would be nice to see them before they disband once again[or will they continue their string of spontaneous festival dates throughout this year?]. Sets by Battles and Aloe Blacc would service all those with a varying hunger which spans the scope of intricate musical work all the way down to that simple soulful music that shakes your bones. Tickets go on sale this Weds @ 10am.

Happy Independence Day!

I hope everyone[those celebrating in the States + our readers around the world] had a great day today. For those of you who don't celebrate and/or are not from any of the US states/territories/etc. etc. you may find it comforting that I did not have any BBQ today, nor did I see any fireworks of any kind. To be honest with you I slept throughout most of the day[I've been trying to "fix" my sleep schedule]. Any hoo I'm going to end today by listening to a couple new EPs and watch Will Smith beat up some Intergalactic Aliens with the dude from Jurassic Park.

The first time I had the opportunity to fully dive into the vibrations of Steely Dan was during my first semester of college in my History of Rock class. Their blend of jazz, rock, and funk was something that I could not help but enjoy. Their upbeat catchy tunes bring a smile to my face along with feelings of happiness and joy. After multiple hard drive crashes and digital library malfunctions, It appears as if I have been deprived from my Steely Dan collection. To my surprise they have a long list of Tour Dates this summer all around the world, including two stops at the Greek Theatre. What better time to dive back into Aja than NOW?
