Skrillex & Damian Marley - Make It Bun Dem (Music Video) + After Hours EP (Stream)

I was absolutely blown away by this collaboration when it dropped back in May. And throughout the summer and until now, it doesn't seem to have lost its steam. OWSLA dropped the "After Hours" remix EP last month and now we've got a music video. The video is a lot like other Skrillex videos. You don't really know what's going on, there's a couple sketchy-looking weirdos, and then something crazy and phenomenal happens. See for yourself and then check out the remixes. All good!

#fastforwardfriday Michael Woods - We've Only Just Begun (feat. Ester Dean) (Calyx & Teebee Remix) [Forthcoming]

Feel the smooth vibes on this beautiful remix of Michael Woods' "We've Only Just Begun (feat. Ester Dean)" by UK techstep production duo Calyx & Teebee. These guys seriously know how to flip a track – just listen to their remix of Little Dragon's "Little Man"

The smooth melodic progressive house riffs that ride over the bassline hit the spot for me, and the vocals help make it even better. But my favorite part of this track is the epic bridge with the strings that fade out back into the main riff that goes into the vocal, which then goes into the next drop.

This tune comes out October 21st on Ministry of Sound. Keep an eye out for this one!

Far East Movement ft. Tyga (KDrew Remix)

It's definitely been a good year for KDrew out of New Jersey (this latter part I just learned I think explains most of his promo pics with his shirt off). As a Dubstep producer, he's certainly earned his name with his massive, well-received remixes of Adventure Club, Zedd, and Taryn Manning, to name a few. Yesterday he dropped another huge remix, and this time he's taken on Far East Movement and Tyga's hit "Dirty Bass". Take a listen to the track below and also go behind the scenes of his remixing process.

#throwbackthursdays Rusko - Jahova

This massive anthem was probably THE first dubstep song I ever heard, and probably THE dubstep song that got me hooked to the sound several years ago. And I think that this tune just fits in with the summer vibes and the grimey, humid weather that has been blanketing Southern California the past couple of weeks now.

This had to be the song, at least when I first heard dubstep, that people had to (or at least, should have had to) know. When I first got into dubstep, this song had that whole "If you haven't heard 'Jahova' and you say you listen to dubstep, then you don't listen to dubstep" kind of impact. And I know there's a whole lot of political issues nowadays of what defines "dubstep," but that's for another day. But there's no denying that this song was and still made a huge impact on the dubstep scene today.

Enjoy!

P.S. Rusko, if you ever read this, PLEASE play Jahova at the next gig you have in Southern California. I was bummed that you didn't play it at the Palladium show NOR did you play it at EDC this year :(

Crookers - Bowser (Full EP Stream)

The infamous Italian duo Crookers are back with a brand new EP entitled "Bowser". There's a good range of sounds here. "Trillex" kicks it off with a big, festival-ready boom. And the eponymous "Bowser" brings in the tribal drums and toned out vocal samples. Finally, "Turn The Lights On" is a thugged out hip-house jam featuring some cool rhymes from Philly rapper STS (Sugar Tongue Slim).

Check it out and pick it up on Beatport if you're feeling it.

La Zebra & C Plus - Sunshine On My Mind

Well, seeing as how this is my first post as a Dank Radio tastemaker, I feel it's only right that I sort of showcase some of the things about me.

First and foremost, I am Robbie Metcalf, a California native and music enthusiast. My company HOF (Hall of Fame) throws massive events up here in Northern California, and I am in charge of talent management and the chief in office of our newly-born record label.

This is our first release, an EDM, Hip-Hop collaboration between Long Beach disco king La Zebra and Sactown hero C Plus.

Starting today, I will be posting the best of the underground EDM, Hip-Hop, and Indie scenes here on Dank Radio. I hope you enjoy. And if you don't, please tell me directly via my Twitter, @knezrobi.
