Fourmi – Glottal Stop (Album Stream + Download)

It's been a while since we've heard from Fourmi, the Parisian man that constantly reminds of Oizo with his intelligent and often peculiar noises. I got an email from him the other day that informed me that his Glottal Stop LP is now available to stream and download. Check it out below, and lookout for his forthcoming EP due out early 2013.

Rekstarr - Let It Be (Stream + Download)

Rekstarr started out as a hip-hop producer. He used to bump burnt CDs full of his beats on those endless days waiting at the bus stop, shop class, mackin’ (and failing) some dime ass bitches in between classes, etc... Being raised on that real hip hop -- Dilated Peoples, DJ Premier, etc. -- Rek’s instrumentals had that raw New York flavor everyone loves.

While he still produces that raw hip hop shit, Rek’s influences and surroundings have made him venture musically. His cycle is now complete. Rekstarr has the ability to sound great in whatever genre he touches. “It’s not even about the genre, I never want to feel restricted. It’s about sitting down and making whatever the hell you like and feel like making at the time,” he says. And a few years ago, he ventured into house.

“I was tired of getting fucked over by the industry. I just wanted to share my music with those out there who appreciate great music and reach out for their love. What better way to do that than with a free album?” Revolved is all original beats using just Beatles samples. The album is a journey, from the introduction to the very end. Take one track out and it’s like taking out a scene from a blockbuster. Don’t be afraid to press play and just late it take you. Revolved is one hell of an album. Jam out and show some respect to my boy.

Room8 ft. Electric Youth - Visions Of You (Stream)

I'm really, really excited about this one. Ezra and Nic, aka ROOM8, are making some of the most amazing music I've heard since the golden days of EDM circa '07. Think Valerie collective... Remember them? Remember those sounds? The heavily synthesized, poppy, sort of retro, 80s-feeling jams we all found romance in? Well, again, I'm really excited about this one, and here's why.

"Visions Of You" is perhaps the lead single on ROOM8's forthcoming debut album Transduction, featuring Electric Youth (heroes!) who especially mesmerizes with her vocal work here. It's a truly beautiful song that, in my opinion, is kind of about things crashing down around you but having that special someone to keep you going.

I can't wait for Transduction to arrive. I was talking to Ezra on the phone the other day and he mentioned some pretty wicked appearances on the record to me, mainly Martha Davis from The Motels, M83 saxophonist Ian Young, guitar work from Giorgio Moroder arranger and guitar player and famed producer, Richie Zito, mixed with Gavin Mackillop (Human League, General Public, Heaven 17).. Honestly, if this was the mid-1980s, this would be a whole 'nother game. This track would top the charts in a flash.

I don't know that this needs any real introduction. Breakbot, the Ed Banger Records funk master, has his debut full-length LP coming out next week and, in preparation, he's been dropping little gems here and there. First thing to check out is his brand new video for "One Out Of Two", below.

I am pumped to hear that Submotion Orchestra is coming out with a new album called "Fragments". Their preview of the forthcoming track "Blind Spot" is just solid. Those vocals influenced in with some piano and dub are on the dot. This track only gets better with a deep and dark remix from Distance and I have to tip my hat to him on this one. Enjoy!

This Album is going to end summer with a bang and set new sound into our airwaves across the world into the fall. The sound of his featured track "Calle F" definitely has that smooth mala bassline influenced with Cuban sound. And what's even better his track "Cuba Electronic" is just DANK, you can hear how this track has that reggae dub feel but those tribal sounds just make it seem why the title of this album stands. Set to release on September 10th, 2012.
