We first heard about Patrick Baker via the beautiful "Get 2 Know U." Now we've discovered more. After completing a remix of "Get 2 Know U," Televisor and Patrick had to get together for a collaboration. And we are very glad they did. "Run Away" is a combination of Televisor's funky and infectious, vintage-meets-modern music production and Patrick's keen melodic sensibilities. The single drops November 5th on Kiez Beats with a Beatport pre-release on the 22nd of this month. Look out for it.
Like the musical love child of Prince and Madonna, Nashville based Patrick Baker's retro yet timeless songs blend a keen pop sensibility with elements of 80's dance, R&B and rock. At first listen you'll think you're hearing some rare 80's classic that you somehow overlooked. His music hits you in the heart and immediately transports you to an alternate John Hughes-esque universe in 1987 where Deloreans cruise down neon-lit city streets in search of summer love. "Get 2 Know U" is the exuberant free download you need to grab right now, featuring an undeniable chorus and completely authentic saxophone solo.
Hit up Patrick on Facebook and Twitter, and hear his whole collection on SoundCloud.
